More CCTV Cameras installs in Chennai than London, Says Journal Report
Chennai city has the maximum number of CCTV cameras installs per square kilometer and per 1,000 population among the 130 cities studied all over the world, according to an official report published in South Asia Journal
The capital of Tamil Nadu Chennai has 657 CCTV cameras per sqkm, which is also followed by Hyderabad that has installed 480 cameras per sqkm. Compared to Hyderabad, Beijing, and London. Chennai has a lower number of CCTV cameras. In Chennai CCTV cameras installs (2.8 lakh) overall when compared to Hyderabad (3 lakh), Beijing (10.1 lakh) and London have (6.6 lakh) cameras.
According to the journal report, the CCTV camera first installed in Germany in 1942, and now there are nearly one billion devices. The authorized report maps out how prevalent the CCTV cameras are in 130 of the all-over the world's most populous places or cities.
The top two CCTV installation countries are China and India. These countries have the highest densities of CCTV surveillance cameras in urban areas. Chennai, India, has 657 cameras per sqkm, making it the first city in the world in terms of CCTV surveillance. It says.
